PRACTICE LIP SYNCH VIDEO

- What have you enjoyed?
I enjoyed learning how to use the software and the process of shooting in different locations.

- What have you learnt?
I learnt the basics of Premiere Pro and how to change the white balance on a camera. On premier pro I used the razor blade tool to cut parts of the video on the timeline. I also found out that you can use mark in and out tools on the video clip before it was placed on the timeline. To find the white balance on a camera you need to use a white sheet of paper. I had to place the sheet of paper in front of the camera while I tested the different white balance settings.

- What were the major challenges?
Making sure that the video and the audio was in time. It was hard taking the right parts out of a clip so that it would match the audio and flow with the rest of the video. Also it was hard shooting in some places it's came up washed out on the camera.

- What do you think the major challenges will be for your main project?
I think that a major challenge would be editing a full length video. This video was only 30 seconds but it took a long time getting everything right and I think that a full length video will be hard work. I think that choosing a song and then coming up with a suitable video idea will be difficult. Some ideas that we come up with might not work out and it will waste our time.

- Planning
We did not have much time to plan the video so elements such as mise en scene and location were not great. In my group we planned everything together and did not separate tasks because there wasn’t a lot of things to do.

 - Camera
4 of our shots were a medium shot. We did this because it was quick and easy. For 1 of our shots we did a long shot so that you could see the actor’s full body. We didn’t do any panning camera shots or different angles because we didn’t plan to have different shot and there wasn’t a lot of time. In my real video I would like to include a range of my shots. For example, close ups, high/low angle shots and use the shots we used in this practice video.

DRAKE - ONE DANCE

My group have chosen the “one dance” by Drake. We will only lip synch the chorus:

That's why I need a one dance
Got a Hennessy in my hand
One more time 'fore I go
Higher powers taking a hold on me
I need a one dance
Got a Hennessy in my hand
One more time 'fore I go
Higher powers taking a hold on me

We have decided on 5 locations:
- Against an orange wall
- Against a white wall
- Against the lockers
- In the middle of a corridor
- Against the wall with writing on it
